Reil Well Yoga
I first came to yoga as a curious teenager having no idea how deeply I would fall in love with the practice.
In the following 25 years, yoga has become a through-line in all of my endeavors, and a sanctuary within that nourishes my visions and dreams.
Yoga Style
My classes are an eclectic blend of my teachers’ wisdom plus fresh inspirations I pick up along the way. My teaching is spacious with plenty of room for modifications and invites you to arrive just how you are.
You can often expect to begin on the ground, moving slowly with SATYA and floor work, regulating your nervous system, and tuning in to what is available right now.
From there, I develop a steady flow to heat the body and move with breath rhythms.
I often use props to refine the focus in your postures and build the ground up to you. Throughout class, you will develop the capacity to listen with your whole being and show up for yourself moment by moment.
Yoga Schedule
I am not currently teaching weekly yoga classes; for the time being, I am more interested in teaching intensive workshops and retreats.
I love co-teaching with Lara Kohn Thompson at Groundworks and look forward to partnering together again in the future.

Kate’s Training & Yoga Background
I started teaching yoga in New York City in 2006 and crisscrossed every borough, offering practices to adults and youth of all ages in studios, parks, schools, prisons, people’s homes, community centers, domestic violence shelters and more.
For nearly a decade, I worked at Little Flower Yoga teaching yoga and mindfulness practices to schools and community organizations. I coached fellow teachers to rise into the best version of themselves so everyone in the classroom can thrive and traveled the country training future teachers to do the same.
I taught at Brooklyn Flow (originally Bend & Bloom Yoga) for 16 years after the studio opened in 2008 and I am honored to call the studio my home base for so long. I treasure my students and have been deeply moved to be able to share this practice with the Brooklyn Flow community.
I have had many phenomenal teachers along the way and am ever grateful to each one. Schuyler Grant and Nikki Vilella (and the whole Kula Yoga crew) taught me how to sequence creatively with intelligence within the structure of thoughtful vinyasa, bringing together asana, bandha, and pranayama.
Tias Little of Prajna Yoga gifted me with a practice of longevity; one that physically expands somatic awareness of the subtle body and ultimately reveals the vast cave of the heart through meditation.
Nikki Costello is a rare gem; she reminds me to practice cultivating community in each room and how meaningful this practice is when shared with fellow teachers. Nikki’s focus and attention to detail radiate in all directions and taught me to see with new eyes—both in my own practice and that of my students.
